My entry today is based on an individual; a young boy who had a never-say-die spirit in his life that I truly admire and salute.


Just been told to watch a small part of a chinese television show by my Dad... I was speechless. It was just way too tragic. Seriously...

Chen Zhen Hua (I hope I got his name right)

This young boy has been fighting cancer all his life. Painfully fighting; enduring and overcoming this obstacle was his aim. And he did acheive his aim. He was cured of the sickness.

He returned to his secondary school and was greeted warmly by all of his peers and he was ever-ready to recuperate whatever he had lost. He had the spark; the passion and the courage to face life filled with the energy that none of us can ever comprehend. He had the love and support of his family, his friends and was on the road to recovery.

When interviewed; he was grinning from ear to ear saying that 'Wo da wan zhang le!' meaning, 'I've finished fighting the war'. And when he was asked what he wanted to do with his life, his reply was simple. A good O level cert; get into a JC and become a Doctor. Simple.

A boy like him has went through so much in his life and is now filled with passion and the adrenaline to move on, to live his life to the fullest.

'How cool is that...' - that was my first reaction. But my Dad's expression was extremely grave. He just shook his head...

What I realised soon after hit me real hard. Zhen Hua had been involved in an accident; he had been knocked down by a car just last week and had passed away today.

Yes today. And today's show was supposed to be the tribute to how this young boy overcame Cancer.


Tragic.


His wish was to give hope to everyone who was also fighting the battle with Cancer; and to help these individuals in any way he could; hence his ambition of being a doctor.


Zhen Hua; you've been an amazing individual and may you find eternal rest and joy in heaven. God bless you and your family...
