Haha, it isn't exactly comforting to come back from a camp realising very well that the start of midyears is literally in front of your face. :)

Oh well...


I found the following comment rather meaningful while mugging for Lit today;

People do not acheive unity of being or autonomy; rather, they create illusions of such wholeness and freedom so thay they can avoid recognizing the extent to which they are self-contradictory productions of cultural and economic forces beyond their control.

The next part comes from R.George Thomas;

The novel (Great Expectations) turns naturally and inevitably upon itself and we are left to assume that the orphan child, who began his tale with a backward look and some uncertainty about his own name, has at last found a companion and some modified assurance upon which to build his future expectations.
